Basque Country, end of the 19th century. In a small village, the parish priest Mateo disappears without a trace. Quickly, rumors and hearsay begin among the villagers, who attribute the disappearance of the parish priest to a strange paranormal event.
In response, the Archbishopric sends two emissaries: the young Eneko (as Mateo's temporary substitute), and the veteran Father Manuel (obsessed with learning the truth about the disappearance).
