CIMASUB, which will be coming to Deba in March, will be offering an exciting programme that includes free underwater screenings, exhibitions and educational activities. The film screenings are scheduled for Thursdays 7, 14 and 21 February, at 18:30, at Kultur Elkartea, which will become the epicentre of a dazzling underwater visual feast. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to join in this unique experience that will bring together the most outstanding international photographers and videographers.

CIMASUB is more than just an underwater film festival; it is a comprehensive event that encompasses multiple aspects of the relationship between humans and the ocean. Accompanying the film screenings, an impressive underwater photographic exhibition will be on display in the Town Hall's plenary hall, accessible from 7 to 24 March, on Thursdays and Fridays from 18:00 to 20:00 and on weekends from 11:00 to 13:30 and 17:30 to 20:30. This exhibition will immerse visitors in the enigmatic seabed and the intricate connection between humanity and nature.

CIMASUB's commitment to education and environmental awareness is reflected in the Txikiziklo Submarino, an educational tour that in 2023 involved more than 2,500 primary school students in Gipuzkoa. This programme seeks to promote the conservation of the oceans and stimulate children's perception of everything that surrounds the sea. Kultur Elkartea will be filled with students on 7 March at 10:00, providing a unique experience for pupils from local schools.

Under the slogan "Building a Blue Future", CIMASUB reinforces the notion that building a "blue future" involves training new generations to value and care for our seas and oceans. This slogan reflects CIMASUB's determination to be a beacon of hope and change in the fight for the preservation of marine ecosystems.

The event is organised by Subacuáticas Real Sociedad, an entity committed since 1975 to publicising the underwater world and raising awareness of respect and care for our seas and oceans through the dissemination of audiovisual works. CIMASUB has evolved as an essential channel of communication between the ambassadors of the sea, underwater photographers and videographers, and the thousands of people who visit the cinemas that host this prestigious international event. This year, the event is a reality thanks to the collaboration of the Deba Town Council, the Royal Society Foundation and the Mater Museo.
