The Locarno Film Festival, which will be held from August 2 to 12, has announced the works that will be part of this year’s Cineasti del Presente section. ‘Negu Hurbilak’ is among them and will have its worldwide premiere at the festival. It is a film directed by Ekain Albite, Adrià Roca, Nicolau Mallofré and Mikel Ibarguren and produced by Maluta films and Cornelius Films. It tells the escape of a young girl, who has lost her way urged by persecution and drowning in uncertainty. Her goal is clear: she wants to cross the border, the so called “muga”, because she knows that can take her far away from her place of origin, her home, where she is not safe anymore.
