9,600 viewers have enjoyed the best mountain cinema with the MENDI TOUR 2024
The touring exhibition of the BBK Mendi Film Bilbao Bizkaia mountain film festival has just culminated the first part of the 2024 season with very good attendance data: 9,600 people have enjoyed the 59 film sessions programmed in different 31 locations.
The MENDI TOUR offers mountain, adventure, extreme sports and nature film sessions with selected films from the Mendi Film festival.
The winter-spring season started in January in Gijón, and has just ended in Zarautz and Mallabia. The programmes have been made up of films that have triumphed such as Rope by Kazuya Hiraide and Kenro Nakajima at the Tirish Mir, Captains on El Cap by climber Seb Berthé in Yosemite, Zerbait aldatu da by kayaker Mikel Sarasola, La Gara directed by Julen Elorza, Everest Invaders by Jean-Michel Jordá, 212 Mountains by Luis Arrieta and trail runner Xabier Zarranz, The Silent Escape by mountaineer and skier Bartek Ziemski, Body of a line by climber Madaleine Sorkin, or above all, The Great White Whale by director Michael Dillon.
The MENDI TOUR will resume sessions between September and November, with some 20 venues distributed in Madrid, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Canary Islands, Aragon, and Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia. It will be the prelude to the 17th edition of the BBK MENDI FILM BILBAO-BIZKAIA festival, which will be held from 6 to 15 December.
