'20,000 Species Of Bees' wins the Forqué Award for Best Film
The feature film '20,000 Species Of Bees' has won the Best Film Award at the Forqué Awards gala on the 16th of December. The debut film by director Estíbaliz Urresola Solaguren was nominated in the top category alongside 'La sociedad de la nieve', ‘Cerrar los ojos’ and 'Upon Entry', and also received the Award for Cinema and Education in Values.
Produced by Gariza Films, Inicia Films and Sirimiri Films, the film tells the story of Cocó, an eight-year-old who doesn't fit into others' expectations and doesn't understand why. Everyone around insists on calling him Aitor, but he doesn't recognize himself in that name. His mother, Ane, will use the holidays to travel with her three children to her maternal home, where her mother Lita and aunt Lourdes live, closely tied to beekeeping. This summer that will change their lives will force these women from three very different generations to confront their doubts and fears.
