Press Release: INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM AND MUSIC VIDEO FESTIVAL CONTEST RULES
Press Release:
The 22nd edition of the Chaostica International Short Film and Videoclip Festival will be held from June 3 to 9 at Bilborock, with the aim of preventing #EvilArtificialIntelligence and natural stupidity from taking over Neo-Bilbao and the rest of the known universe.
70 works from all corners of the planet Earth make up the official section. Among the participants are such hardy filmmakers as Mariia Zhemchuzhina, César Tormo, Lam Can-Zhao, Itziar Castro, Freddy Wallin, Màriam Zelaia, Pol Diggler, Tamara Lucarini, Giuseppe Zampella, Beatriz Sánchez, Sasha Needmor, Arriguri, Ximon Agirre, Aitana Ahrens, Alex Rey or Martín Romero and music videos of artists and bands such as Loquillo, Amorante, Les Lullies, Antoha MC, Laura Sam and Juan Escribano, Pumpkin Dream, Balloon Frame, Mæntik, Abocajarro or King Pigeon.
The illustrious jury, responsible for bringing order to the chaos, is formed by researcher and teacher Amaia Nerekan, writer and cultural manager Juan Zapater and film journalist Laura Lazcano.
In addition to the official section screenings, there will be other parallel activities for the enjoyment of the neo-bilbaínit@s de bien, such as the exhibition Tribute to Mad Max - Apocalypse drawn; the preview in Euskadi of the feature film "Amor en toda la cara", with the presence of its director and starring actor Gerald B. Fillmore and actress Mela Green (activity in collaboration with Zinebi); the special screening Lo más Caostico de Macabro VOL. VIII (activity in collaboration with Macabro, International Horror Film Festival of Mexico City); the recording of the live podcast La Hora Caníbal, hosted by Borja Crespo and with the presence of musicians Nerea Alberdi and Zabala; the master class on bizarre cinema with artist and performer Ramón Churruca; the special electronic music session MIX-A CAOSTICA-N with the Jarrera collective (an activity in collaboration with Media Attack and Bilbao Gazte); the children's screening Caostica KIDS; the awards ceremony with electrocution of the winners as tradition dictates; the concert for the first time in Euskadi by Alma X; and the performances by DJ Chavecito and VJ Náuseas.
This year, as a novelty, Caostica is organizing the first edition of the Basque Short Film Market within the framework of the festival, together with Gidoi - Basque Scriptwriters Association, an unprecedented industry event supported by the Basque audiovisual industry and born with the aim of promoting the short film format, making it visible and encouraging its creation -especially among women- and where different agents such as producers, creators, distributors or festivals will meet. In addition to a networking session, there will be round tables and talks with the participation of Begoña de Ibarra (General Director of Culture of the Bizkaia Provincial Council), Vanesa Fernández (Director of Culture and Basque at EITB), director Maider Oleaga, Sonia Pacios (Kuttuna Filmak), Carmen Lacasa (Galapan), Eguzkiñe Aranzibia (Hemen Elkartea) and Iratxe Fresneda (Pimpinella Films), among others.
All festival activities will be free of charge until full capacity is reached.
